Film festival database for smarter submission strategy
The first data milestone is a curated index of around 1,000 useful festivals, with permanent festival profiles separated from annual editions.
The goal is not a bigger list of festivals. FestForge uses festival quality signals, accreditations, deadlines, fees and reputation evidence to decide which opportunities deserve a place in a filmmaker's submission plan.
| Quality | Use case | Evidence | Recommendation behaviour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier A | Major and qualifying festivals | Oscar, BAFTA, FIAPF, long-running, high submissions | Recommend when eligible |
| Tier B | Reputable specialist festivals | Recognised accreditation, established history or strong submission signal | Recommend with confidence |
| Tier C | Useful but still unproven festivals | Limited evidence captured so far | Recommend selectively |
| Tier D | Low trust or poor-quality festivals | Manual concern, red flags or weak reputation | Do not recommend by default |
