Ultra-prestigious international festivals

- Cannes, Sundance, Tribeca-level profile, elite industry attention and major premiere value
- Recommendation behaviour
- Recommend only when the film is a serious fit
FilmFreeway says 14,000+ festivals rely on its platform for submissions and promotion, but festivals are not all equal. FestForge is deliberately smaller: a hand-picked list of 800 festivals that genuinely matter.
Our database is curated by people who have been to festivals and understand which ones are properly run, respected and useful for filmmakers. FestForge uses quality signals, accreditations, deadlines, fees and reputation evidence to decide which opportunities deserve a place in a submission plan.
| Quality | Use case | Evidence | Recommendation behaviour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier A | Ultra-prestigious international festivals | Cannes, Sundance, Tribeca-level profile, elite industry attention and major premiere value | Recommend only when the film is a serious fit |
| Tier B | Strong accredited or specialist festivals | Academy, BAFTA or Melies qualification, respected genre focus, established history or strong submission signal | Recommend with confidence |
| Tier C | Smaller local and emerging festivals | Lower fees, useful regional profile, audience fit or local advantage, with lighter prestige signal | Recommend selectively when the fit is clear |
| Tier D | Low trust or poor-quality festivals | Manual concern, red flags or weak reputation | FestForge does not recommend D-tier festivals |
